Get involved and create a positive impact during your holiday
Visit us
Every Wednesday and Friday from 11.30-12.30 it is possible to visit us by appointment. We ask a contribution for this, so we can keep the school running. From November 1 we will open our new boutique hotel. From then on we will offer the visits in combination with a lunch or a drink in our Blooming Café. This is where young people with disabilities work.

Wishlist
On this page you will find a wishlist of all kinds of materials (big and small) that we can use at school. Feel free to bring whatever is on this. Why a wishlist? We otherwise get a lot of the same materials, often pencils and pens, while generally there is more need for things that are harder to come by here on Zanzibar, such as craft materials.
Staying with us
Our new boutique hotel will open on November 1, 2024. Blooming Zanzibar is located on the same property as More Africa. By staying with us, you donate directly to the school. This way you make your positive impact on Zanzibar even bigger!
Working vacations
We offer working vacations with us. You will stay at Blooming Zanzibar and get a 10% discount on your stay when you work at least 3 days for 3 hours a day. You will not work directly with the children due to the short duration, but your work will benefit the children. This will always be by mutual agreement. In this way you get involved in the day to day work, you have a positive impact during your holiday and you will help to make our work sustainable.
Volunteering
We work with professional volunteers, all with a background in (special) education, health care, physical therapy or related.
Volunteers are at least 18 years old and come to Zanzibar for a minimum of 4 weeks. We offer an “all or nothing” package, meaning volunteers stay with us. Food and accommodation are included in the price. Cost is 200 Euros per week.
Now you may be wondering why you have to pay for volunteering? That's a good question. After all, you come to offer help and you invest your time, effort and money. We, and with us many small NGOs cannot bear the cost for volunteers. Think costs for electricity, water, and food, which are not cheap. If we bear these costs, it would mean that the donations we receive for the school would go to the volunteers, and that is not the intention. We want 100% of the income from donations to go directly to the right place: to the children.
Are you interested in volunteering? Send an email with motivation letter and CV to info@more-africa.com.
