Paje has a perfect lagoon for beginners and freestylers up to the reef. On the reef are super waves for the more experienced kiter or wave freaks. A sea bottom of sand, blue water and a good wind are making Zanzibar an amazing kite destination, which you really have to try!

The rock

On the South-East coast of Zanzibar you’ll find the village Michamvi. Michamvi is famous because of ‘The Rock’, one of the most known restaurants on Zanzibar. The Rock is located on a very special place, namely on the top of a rock! When it’s low tide, you can walk over the beach to The Rock. On the west Coast

Stone Town City Tour (Also night tours available)

The capital of Zanzibar, Stone Town, is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Every culture lover will love this diverse city with many Arabic influences. Our guide will tell you all about the rich history of Zanzibar, which is largely characterized by slave trade. You will be taken to the former slave market, the Anglican church, the House of Wonders, the ancient Arab Fort and the birthplace of Freddy Mercury (Queen).
Along the way you get to see everything that Zanzibar stands for. On the largest market in the city, the Darajani, you will discover why Zanzibar is famous for its spices. Also you will visit the meat and fish market on Darajani. The fish is freshly fed by local fishermen and a few times a day it’s auctioned on the fish auction. Then the big sale begins in the many small shops that Stone Town is rich.

Prison Island

About 20 minutes with the boat from Stone Town, you will find Prison Island. This island is surrounded by a beautiful beach.
Prison Island is named after the prison which was built on the island, but that is never used. Nowadays, you can admire the huge tortoises that are imported from the Seychelles on Prison Island. We are very curious if you can find the oldest tortoise between all those huge animals! Besides a visit to the turtles, you can also visit the old prison. This is still intact and is used as a restaurant for the visitors who stay at Prison Island. In the toilets, you can still find the chains that were used for chaining the slaves. There is also time to go snorkeling at the beautiful reef.

Nakupenda Sandbank

About 30 minutes with the boat from Stone Town, you find the Nakupenda Sandbank. Nakupenda means ‘I love you’ in Swahili. This sandbank got this name because of its enormous beauty and the fact that many couples who are in love, like to make this tour. With a traditional boat you go from Stone Town to the sandbank. The departure time can be different every day because of the tide. The water is crystal clear and the view on Stone Town is phenomenal. It is possible to snorkel here.

In the North

Mnemba Atoll

Mnemba Island is located about 2 km off the northeast coast of Zanzibar. These reefs have been declared a Marine Conservation area, which means all live above and below the water is protected. This includes various types of turtles, whales, 600 species of fish and birds.
Mnemba Atoll is the place for any dive and snorkel enthusiast. Even if you do not like this, you will be enchanted by the beauty of Mnemba. This bounty island is private property of a hotel, but you can enjoy the beauty of this piece of paradise on earth. Mnemba belongs to the top 10 of snorkel and diving spots in the world! The water is crystal clear, and the underwater world is very diverse. If you’re lucky you’ll see dolphins and sea turtles. You go to Mnemba with a traditional Dhow. On the way back you will sail (with enough wind).

In the South

Dolphin Tour

For this tour, you will leave early in the morning at 6.30 to from More Africa to Kizimkazi.
Around 7.00, you will step in to the boat to go searching for dolphins. We will leave this early, because the disadvantage of popular tours like this one is that it will soon looks like a ‘dolphin hunt’. To prevent this, we leave early so you can spot the dolphins in their own habitat, without the other 20 boats that are searching for them.
You have the unique chance to swim with these animals and to snorkel, at least when you are fast enough! Because the dolphins are wild animals, you will always have to be careful and you don’t always have the luck that you actually see them. Anyway, it’s a beautiful tour.

Blue Safari

Blue Safari is a very complete excursion where you can see a lot in one day.

This excursion departs from Fumba, in the South-West of Zanzibar. On board of the traditional boat, the Dhow, you go to a mangrove forest in sea, where you can swim. After this we go to a sandbank in the middle of the sea. You can relax here, but you can also enjoy all the beautiful things and the fresh fruit here.

In the center

Jozani Forest

Jozani Forest is on the way from Stone Town to the east coast of the island. It is the only National Park on Zanzibar and is approximately 50km2 in size.

Jozani Forest is a tourist attraction for nature lovers. It has a large variety of trees and species. During your trip through the woods, under the guidance of a special guide, you will learn about the different trees, such as the mahogany trees. Also, your guide will take you to the “red colobus monkey”, a monkey species found on Zanzibar only. If you are lucky you can get very close. In addition, you can see 50 different types of butterflies, 40 different types of birds, and sometimes bush babies, chameleons or small antelopes. Leopards could also be seen, which according to a Zanzibari legend have a mythical status. Locals would believe that wizards keep this animal as a pet and scare people by telling stories that they reveal themselves as spirits and then disappear again in nothing. However, since 2003, this species is no longer seen in the park.

After visiting the park, you will go to a nearby mangrove by car. The walk through the mangrove takes you over a beautifully landscaped riser where you can see crabs, depending on the tide. The mangrove is an important breeding ground for many animals such as birds, but also fish.

Butterfly Centre

The Zanzibar Butterfly Centre (ZBC) is an interactive butterfly exhibit near to Jozani-Chawka Bay National Park on Unguja island, though outside the park boundaries. The exhibit consists of a netted tropical garden with usually hundreds of butterflies, all of which are native species to Zanzibar. The enclosure is one of Africa’s largest butterfly exhibits and provides residents and tourists of Zanzibar with an interactive and visual environment to learn about butterflies.

Spice Tour

A visit to one of the many spice plantations that Zanzibar knows cannot be missed when you are here. You can find the plantations at a 30-minute ride from the centre of Stone Town.
Zanzibar is still known as the ‘spices island’. Many different things grow and flourish here: vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, coffee, pepper and so on.

You will end the tour with a delicious fruit tasting. After that you can enjoy a delicious local lunch, that is prepared by the women from the community.
